Investigations into the Ram Mandir donation theft case have intensified as authorities uncover illegal properties and stolen funds. The local development authority issued a demolition notice for the unapproved, under-construction residence of a key accused in the city. Probe agencies recovered substantial cash, including foreign currency, from the accused, who reportedly hid funds under dry fodder. Confessions revealed that trust employees and bank officials colluded to steal temple donations by forming human shields and exploiting security camera blind spots.
In response, temple authorities are overhauling security protocols. Proposed measures include mandatory body searches, background verifications, installation of full-body scanners, and a potential ban on mobile phones for trust staff. Additionally, a special investigation team interrogated top trust officials, who may face show-cause notices in an upcoming meeting. The stolen funds were allegedly used to purchase properties, which are now under strict scrutiny by the administration as the investigation continues to uncover severe lapses.
