MNS city president Gajanan Kale, along with party workers, met Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Kailas Shinde and sought strict action against all those found responsible. During the protest, MNS workers removed their shirts inside the commissioner's office in what they called a "Kapde Utaro Andolan" (Strip Protest), alleging serious lapses in the municipal healthcare system.
The civic administration subsequently suspended a senior gynaecologist in connection with Dongre's death. According to officials, the doctor was found prima facie negligent in handling the case. The suspension was ordered under provisions of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and Maharashtra Civil Services Rules. However, MNS leaders said action against a single official was not enough and demanded that all officers and employees found guilty of negligence be held accountable.
