Massive protests have escalated across Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir following a severe crackdown by the Pakistani army and security forces. Thousands of demonstrators remain on the streets in cities like Rawalakot, defying an internet ban and restrictions on essential supplies, including food, vegetables, and medicines. The protest leaders have openly declared that the region does not belong to Pakistan, accusing the administration of decades of political neglect and economic exploitation.
Demonstrators near the Line of Control have warned that the continued blockade of food and daily necessities could force residents to seek alternative trade routes, signaling a potential shift towards India. Residents have been demonstrating since the ninth of June, raising concerns over land occupation and the denial of basic electoral rights. Furthermore, protesters have alleged that casualties from the military crackdown are not being accurately reported, vowing to sustain their movement against the authorities and reject any military dictatorship.
