Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav on Thursday assured financial assistance and medical support to a si month-old infant from Uravakonda, who is suffering from a rare and life-threatening blood disorder, Primary Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). The child’s parents met the Minister at Peddakoukuntla village in Uravakonda mandal on Thursday and urged him for government support.
Holding the baby in his hands, the Minister consoled the anxious parents, saying the government would extend all possible support to ensure timely treatment. On learning that the treatment would cost around ₹15 lakh, the Minister immediately promised to facilitate financial assistance through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
He said steps would be taken to ensure that the required funds are released without delay, and directed the medical officers in Uravakonda to expedite the process. Keshav also
spoke over the phone with the management of a corporate hospital in Hyderabad, requesting them to provide the child with the best possible treatment without waiting for procedural formalities.
