Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav launched the Viksit Bharat–G RAM-G scheme at Aravakuru village in Kuderu mandal of Uravakonda assembly constituency on Thursday. The Minister inaugurated desilting works of a canal near the village tank and had a brief interaction with workers about their wages, work allocation, payment system, and the number of employment days available under the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Keshav highlighted that the revamped scheme would provide up to 125 days of wage employment annually to rural workers and a timely credit of wages directly into their bank accounts. The initiative, implemented by the Centre, seeks to improve the economic condition of rural families and create durable community assets through employment-oriented development works.
The Minister maintained that village development plans would be prepared through Gram Sabhas to ensure that local issues are given priority in project implementation. He urged workers
to make full use of the opportunities offered to better their livelihoods. Officials from the District Water Management Authority (DWMA), revenue, panchayat raj, and DRDA were present.
