Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav on Thursday said that every eligible citizen would be included in the electoral rolls and directed the officials to ensure accurate household mapping during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters' list. Reviewing the SIR exercise at Polling Station No. 181 in Santi Nagar and Polling Station No. 179 in Ankamma Nagar under the Guntur West Assembly constituency, Mr. Yadav interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Later, he held a review meeting with Assistant Electoral Registration Officers at the Guntur Municipal Corporation office and instructed them to expedite the SIR exercise. ‘Book a Call’ facility Yadav emphasised the need for close coordination with apartment welfare associations to accelerate voter registration in residential complexes. He asked the officials to effectively utilise the ‘Book a Call’ facility to enable voters to clarify their queries directly with Booth Level Officers.
Stressing that no eligible voter should be left out, Mr. Yadav said the electoral rolls should include all qualified voters except those identified in the categories of absent, shifted, deceased, duplicate, or foreign nationals. He instructed the officials to
conduct door-to-door visits and distribute enumeration forms. K. Mayur Ashok, Commissioner of Guntur Municipal Corporation, said the special voter enrolment drive was being conducted on a priority basis, adding that assistants had also been deployed to support Booth Level Officers.
