The incident involved a speeding Thar driving at approximately 120 kilometers per hour, which struck the victim's two-wheeler. Despite wearing a high-quality helmet, the impact proved fatal. The accused, identified as employees of multinational corporations, fled the scene but were tracked down 50 hours later after a passerby photographed their Karnataka-registered vehicle.
However, the suspects quickly secured bail, sparking outrage from Sarthak's grieving parents. The family highlighted the systemic flaws in current traffic laws that allow offenders in hit-and-run cases to easily walk free. They are demanding stricter laws and a shift from treating such incidents as simple hit-and-run cases to culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The parents have urged authorities and corporate employers to hold the accused accountable, seeking justice for their only son.
