The premises was evacuated following the threat.
Police sources have said that the e-mail appears to be a part of a hoax campaign. Such e-mails were also sent to Karnataka High Court and several schools in Bengaluru lately. The entire facility is being searched following the evacuation keeping in mind the seriousness of the threat. Bomb squads have been deployed at the premises. Nothing serious has been found so far, police sources said. They also informed that a search operation is underway. On Thursday, Delhi Police apprehended a man from Ghaziabad for sending hoax bomb threats to different establishments over several days, according to media reports.
The man has been identified as Nishant Tyagi. He has, apparently, been undergoing treatment for mental illnesses from different institutions over the years. The police were informed about his mental health issues by his family. The police are now trying to determine what could be his motive behind the act. So far, in their investigation, they did not find any explosives or materials which could be used to make a bomb.
