वाराणसी के दालमंडी में 5 मस्जिदें तोड़ी गईं. 11 घंटे चली कार्रवाई में 50 से 60 फीसदी तक का हिस्सा तोड़ दिया गया. पूरे दिन करीब 250 मजदूर हथौड़ों से मस्जिदें गिराने में जुटे रहे. मौके पर सुरक्षा के लिए 1860 जवान तैनात रहे. इनमें पीएसी की 7 कंपनियां, CRPF की एक बटालियन, RRF की एक बटालियन और स्थानीय पुलिस फोर्स शामिल है. यह कार्रवाई दालमंडी चौड़ीकरण परियोजना के तहत की गई.
Five mosques were demolished in the Dalmandi area of Varanasi. During the operation, which lasted 11 hours, 50 to 60 percent of the structures were razed. Throughout the day, around 250 laborers worked to bring down the mosques using hammers. A security force of 1,860 personnel was deployed at the site; this included seven companies of the PAC, one battalion each of the CRPF and RRF, and the local police force.
