Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched the second phase of the statewide School Chalo Abhiyan from Saharanpur, reaffirming the state government's commitment to achieving 100 per cent school enrolment in the new academic session. The campaign seeks to ensure that every eligible child is enrolled in school, with a special focus on identifying out-of-school children and integrating them into the formal education system.
Read Full Story Launching the initiative from the CM Model Composite School in Ismailpur village, Adityanath distributed textbooks, school bags and stationery kits to students beginning the new academic year. He also felicitated the district's best-performing headmasters for their contribution to improving school education. Taking to X, Adityanath shared a snippet of his address for the occasion and said, "the results were good, because the government's intent was clear, and the policy for educational advancement was unambiguous".
According to officials, the second phase of the campaign will prioritise identifying children who are out of school, re-enrolling dropouts, raising awareness among parents about the importance of education, and encouraging the active participation of public representatives, School Management Committees (SMCs) and local communities. The first phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan was conducted across Uttar Pradesh from April 1 to April 15.
Officials said the initiative is part of the state government's broader strategy of promoting education alongside holistic development, with the goal of ensuring that every child has access to quality education. Ends
