A devastating road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa district claimed seven lives after a passenger bus caught fire in the early hours of Wednesday. At least 22 other passengers sustained injuries in the incident. The bus, carrying around 37 passengers, was travelling from Haridwar to Indore when it caught fire at around 2:30 am.
The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be officially confirmed. Six bodies were initially shifted to the district hospital as rescue and recovery operations continued.
Police, fire services and emergency response teams reached the spot soon after the incident and carried out rescue operations. Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit was present at the accident site to supervise the operation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, and further details are awaited.
