A green corridor was created to ensure the swift transportation of the injured for treatment. Fire tenders were rushed to the scene to douse the blaze, and rescue teams continued operations.
Yesterday, in a similar incident, four people were killed and 27 others injured after a passenger bus crashed into a container truck on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district. The accident occurred at around 4 am when the bus was travelling from Lucknow to Delhi, Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said. According to the police, the bus was carrying more passengers than its seating capacity and was being driven by the conductor instead of the designated driver when it collided with the container truck. The impact severely damaged the front portion of the vehicle. Most passengers were asleep at the time of the crash, officials said. Several occupants became trapped between the seats, prompting rescue teams to use gas cutters to cut through the mangled bus and pull them out. The rescue operation continued for nearly two hours. Police identified the deceased as the bus driver, the conductor, the cleaner and one passenger.
