Her opponent, leftist candidate Roberto Sanchez, alleged electoral fraud over disputed ballots cast by Peruvians abroad. Fujimori, whose late father Alberto Fujimori was jailed for human rights abuses and corruption, has pledged to govern with a firm hand and restore law and order amid soaring crime rates.
