Punjab Kings cricketer Shashank Singh has firmly denied allegations of assaulting and verbally abusing a member of his cooking staff, Vipendra Singh. An FIR has been registered against Shashank, his father Shailesh Singh, and their driver in Bhopal following a complaint by the cook. The victim alleged that he was beaten, his phone was snatched, and he was threatened when he tried to quit due to excessive workload and abusive behavior.
However, Shashank released a statement refuting the claims, stating the man was not a cook but an imposter who had infiltrated his home to record private videos and steal belongings. The cricketer claimed that a silver idol was missing and suggested the cook was caught taking photos of personal items. Medical reports of the victim reportedly confirm physical assault with injury marks on several parts of his body.
Police are expected to summon the cricketer and his father for questioning.
