US and Iranian technical teams are heading to Doha, Qatar, for talks amid escalating tensions. Iran's foreign ministry stated it will not engage in direct meetings with the US delegation, which includes Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, sent by US President Donald Trump. The development follows recent missile exchanges that tested a four-month-old interim ceasefire agreement.
Disputes remain over the control of the Strait of Hormuz, oil demining efforts, and unfrozen assets. Commenting on the situation and the upcoming Doha meeting, Trump stated, 'We're winning militarily. It's almost won militarily, I would say. And it's really very simple: it's the denuclearization of Iran.' India Today correspondent Pranay Upadhyay noted that while direct contact is unlikely, indirect mediated interactions are expected as both nations navigate the fragile sixty-day accord regarding ship movements in the region.
