'Missing Passport, Gait Analysis': Why Police Sought Extension Of Siya And Chetan's Custody Published By, Last Updated: June 29, 2026, 23:48 IST A court in Maharashtra's Pune on Monday extended the police custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, the two accused in the murder of realtor Ketan Agrawal, till July 3. A court in Maharashtra’s Pune on Monday extended the police custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, the two accused in the murder of realtor Ketan Agrawal, till July 3 after investigators said several key aspects of the probe, including a gait analysis, recovery of the victim’s missing passport and reconstruction of the crime, were still pending. Goyal, 20, and Chaudhary, 22, were produced before the Vadgaon Maval court after the expiry of their initial police custody. They were arrested on June 23 for allegedly conspiring to kill 26-year-old Agrawal and pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Seeking an extension of custody, the prosecution told the court that investigators needed to carry out further questioning and verify multiple pieces of evidence collected during the investigation. Gait Analysis Of Siya’s Lover One of the main steps police want to take is a gait analysis of Chaudhary. Officials said the exercise involves comparing CCTV footage of Chaudhary walking at Lohagad Fort with a recreated video to determine whether the walking patterns match. According to investigators, Chaudhary allegedly wore a hoodie to conceal his face while climbing the fort on the day of the incident. Police now plan to recreate the footage by making him wear a similar hoodie and walk at the same location. “We are planning to conduct a gait analysis of Chaudhary. We have CCTV footage showing him walking while wearing a hoodie to hide his face. The gait analysis will compare his locomotion in the CCTV footage with the recreated video to determine whether the walking patterns match," the official said. Siya, Chetan To Be Questioned Over Crime Scene Before the court, Assistant Public Prosecutor Rajashri Virkud said the investigation had revealed that the accused had visited Lohagad Fort earlier to identify the location from where Agrawal could allegedly be pushed off the cliff. “Police want to question both the accused on this aspect, and hence the extension of custody is needed," she told the court. The prosecution further submitted that the accused had met repeatedly at different locations to allegedly plan the murder and that investigators wanted to examine those meetings in greater detail. Once retrieved, this data will serve as the basis for a thorough interrogation of the accused," the prosecution told the court. Police also informed the court that a reconstruction of the sequence of events was carried out on June 28 based on Goyal’s statement and now needed to be verified with Chaudhary.
