A nineteen-month-old child has permanently lost his eyesight following treatment at a government hospital in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. The child was taken to Banda Civil Hospital for a cold and eye redness, where incorrect medication allegedly administered by the doctor on duty caused his condition to deteriorate rapidly.
After being referred to the district hospital and subsequently to AIIMS Bhopal, specialists confirmed complete vision loss. The aggrieved family has filed a complaint at Banda Police Station demanding strict action against the responsible staff. In response, the Chief Medical and Health Officer has constituted a committee to investigate the allegations of medical negligence.
