Monsoon rain has caused flooding and landslides across northeast India, affecting life in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. In Assam, a surge in the Dhikari River has inundated areas, leaving more than fifteen people stranded on a riverine island. Floodwaters also washed away a three hundred metre long bridge over the Kimi River.
In Arunachal Pradesh, cloudbursts and rain have caused flooding, leaving seven districts along the India-China border cut off after roads were blocked or damaged.
