State-linked Fars News Agency reported that multiple explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas, Iran’s main southern port city located along one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes. The IRGC-affiliated outlet said similar explosion-like sounds were also reported near the coastal towns of Sirik and Jask, both strategically positioned along the Gulf of Oman and close to the Strait of Hormuz. Residents in Bandar Abbas reportedly heard several blasts within minutes, triggering concern across the southern coastal region. However, Iranian authorities have not yet issued an official explanation regarding the source or nature of the explosions. The reports come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic negotiations aimed at ending the broader Middle East conflict.

According to sources cited in CNN, “intense talks" have been underway in Doha since Tuesday morning involving Qatari mediators and Iranian officials in coordination with the United States. The discussions are reportedly focused on finalising details of a possible agreement to reduce tensions across multiple fronts in the region. Iran and the United States have reportedly reached a preliminary framework of understanding regarding Iran’s frozen assets, with Qatar playing a key mediation role, Al Jazeera, citing an informed source, reported. If confirmed, an official announcement on a broader agreement could come as early as tomorrow. A high-level Iranian delegation that includes the country’s top negotiator and foreign minister was in Doha on Monday to discuss an agreement with the US and the release of frozen funds.
