(Image: AI Generated) Bengaluru recorded three separate murder cases within a span of just a few hours on Sunday night, leaving the city shocked and police investigating multiple angles. The incidents include the killing of two women in unrelated cases and the targeted murder of a history-sheeter on a busy road. Police said the three killings took place in different parts of the city, with no immediate link established between them. Officials are also examining CCTV footage and witness accounts to piece together the sequence of events. Woman stabbed to death by boyfriend In the first case, a 23-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend after she refused to marry him.
The victim, identified as Anjali, was attacked on Pipeline Road in Mahalakshmi Layout on Sunday evening. Police said the accused, Rajeev, had been in a relationship with her for several years. He allegedly called her to meet and again raised the issue of marriage, which led to an argument. During the confrontation, he is said to have stabbed her in the neck. Anjali was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals but succumbed to her injuries. Police have arrested the accused and confirmed that he had prior criminal cases registered against him. Investigators said the victim’s family had opposed the relationship due to his background. Woman found dead in rented house In a separate incident under Bommanahalli police limits, a 40-year-old woman identified as Krishna Barman was found dead at her rented residence in Muniyappa Layout. According to India Today report, police suspect she may have been strangled by someone known to her.
Officials said her recent movements and contacts are being examined as part of the investigation. The exact motive and identity of the suspect remain unclear, and forensic teams are assisting in the probe. History-sheeter hacked to death In the third incident, history-sheeter Raja alias Halmuk Raja was chased and hacked to death near IG Circle on JP Nagar Road. CCTV footage showed multiple assailants attacking him with machetes after intercepting him in a car, India Today reported. Police said the attackers fled the spot immediately after the assault. Raja, who faced several criminal cases including murder and robbery, was taken to hospital but died due to his injuries. Investigators suspect the killing is linked to an old rivalry and possible gang-related revenge. Police said all three cases are being probed separately and no connection has been established so far.
