Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (IMAGE: PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reviewed development projects, law and order, and the Public Works Department’s action plan for the Agra Division, directing officials to maintain strict quality standards and ensure timely execution of infrastructure works. During the meeting at the Divisional Commissioner’s auditorium, the Chief Minister said Agra, now a metro city, should have good civic infrastructure, including roads, water supply, sewerage and urban beautification.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the poor restoration of roads dug up for projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, AMRUT Scheme and sewer line works. He warned that engineers and contractors would be held directly responsible for substandard construction, adding that FIRs should be filed and legal action initiated against those found guilty. CM Yogi Reviews Rs 2,791-Crore Projects Reviewing the PWD’s proposals, Adityanath said all development plans submitted by public representatives had been uploaded to the e-Vishwakarma 2.0 portal. In Agra district, nearly 495 projects worth around Rs 2,791 crore, including roads, bridges and helipads, have been proposed. He urged MPs, MLAs and MLCs to finalise their priorities quickly so approvals and fund allocation are not delayed.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to resolve legal hurdles affecting Agra Airport expansion, bridge construction and road widening projects by engaging a panel of senior advocates to effectively represent the government’s case before courts. He further directed that alternative alignments be explored wherever old trees obstruct road expansion. Taking a tough stand on rural infrastructure, Adityanath ordered an immediate ban on heavy vehicles using village roads and directed authorities to recover repair costs from those responsible for damaging them. He also called for stricter monitoring of illegal mining along the Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh borders and better coordination with neighbouring states to tackle the stray cattle menace.
