An interstate drug peddler was arrested by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force in a joint operation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru, and the Shadnagar police after 241 grams of MDMA was seized from his possession and dead drop locations in Bengaluru. The accused was identified as Rahul P.V., 24, a resident of Dommasandra, Bengaluru, originally from Chikkaballapur district in Karnataka. Director of EAGLE, Sandeep Shandilya said that Rahul is a wanted accused in cases registered at Gachibowli and Shadnagar police stations. According to investigators, Rahul completed his B.Tech in 2024 and briefly worked at a car showroom in Bengaluru before losing his job. During that period, he allegedly came into contact with a drug consumer named Arshlan, through whom he was introduced to a Nigerian national identified as Michael Johnson alias Honour. Police said Michael, who was deported from India about three months ago, allegedly continues to operate the drug network from Nigeria by taking orders over the phone.
Officials alleged that Rahul began purchasing MDMA from Michael at ₹1,100 per gram and has been selling it for ₹2,000 per gram using a “dead drop” delivery system. Customers transferred payments through QR codes shared over WhatsApp, after which the drugs were left at undisclosed locations and their coordinates shared with buyers. Police said Rahul had earlier been arrested in a drug case by the Prohibition and Excise Police at Balanagar. After his release from jail, he allegedly became more cautious and used a Nigerian phone number provided by Michael for communication. The investigation gained momentum after the arrest of Mohit Kumar by the EAGLE Force and Shadnagar police on June 10. Police said Mohit had allegedly purchased 20 grams of MDMA from Rahul in Bengaluru on June 9. Based on information provided by Mohit, EAGLE teams conducted surveillance on Rahul for five days before raiding his residence in Dommasandra on June 28.
During the operation, officials seized 25 grams of MDMA from Rahul’s residence. While identifying dead drop locations with his assistance, they recovered another 108 grams of MDMA concealed inside a hole in a stone wall and smaller amounts of MDMA from other dead drop locations. The total seizure in the case was 241 grams of MDMA. Three mobile phones were also seized. Investigators said Rahul had around 10 regular customers and earned approximately ₹4.5 lakh every month by supplying drugs. Apart from selling to his own customers, he allegedly worked as a delivery agent for Michael and delivered drugs to Michael’s customers across Bengaluru. Police claimed Rahul delivered around 500 grams of MDMA every week to his own customers and over 800 grams weekly to Michael’s customers. Officials said Rahul also used his roommates to assist in deliveries and accepted cash only from known customers, while others paid through digital transactions using accounts linked to his associates.
