BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday described Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a ‘part-time politician’, contrasting him with BJP workers, whom he said are ‘full-time public servants’. “Our party workers serve people round the clock, but some leaders appear only during elections. I call such individuals part-time politicians. Rahul Gandhi is one of them. For us, power is not the ultimate goal; public service continues even when we are in the Opposition,” he said. Addressing booth-level cadres in Warangal, Mr. Nabin accused both the ruling Congress and the previous BRS governments of prioritising ‘family and party interests’ over public welfare.
Under their rule, he said, the hopes and aspirations of the people remained unfulfilled. The Congress came to power with numerous promises, but instead of addressing public issues, it has focused more on party interests and political manoeuvring, he alleged. He further claimed that the BRS government had used public funds for the benefit of a single family, adding that the BJP consistently fought against its ‘corruption and failures’. Calling the BJP the ‘only true alternative’ in Telangana, Mr. Nabin said the party has the strength, resolve and leadership to meet people’s aspirations. He urged workers to strengthen booth-level structures, enrol new voters and reach every household to pave the way for victory in the next elections.
He also stressed that the Centre’s welfare and development schemes under the Modi government should be widely communicated, alongside highlighting the State government’s failures. The BJP, he said, is committed to charting a new development path for Telangana, rooted in nationalist ideology and Indian cultural values. Earlier, during an interaction with students as part of his three-day Telangana tour, Mr. Nabin said some opposition forces were trying to incite youth by imitating so-called ‘Gen Z’ movements from abroad. However, he asserted that Indian youth believe in nation-building, not anarchy. “Real Gen Z represents young Indians contributing to growth, innovation and the future of the country.
Those attempting to mislead them must understand that India’s youth will not allow negative agendas to shape the nation’s future. Prime Minister Modi’s greatest gift to them is self-confidence,” he said. Encouraging youth participation in politics, he added, “You cannot enter politics looking for quick success. You must stay the course, face challenges, build yourself and deliver with patience and purpose.”
