The US President has claimed that Iran requested a meeting to be held in Doha. However, official representatives from the Iranian government have rejected scheduled technical talks in Qatar. The chief negotiator of the Islamic Republic of Iran and deputy of the Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that no technical meetings are planned.
According to Iranian officials, consultations are continuing only through intermediaries, and technical working group meetings will only happen after an agreement is reached on the date and location.
