A nineteen-month-old child has lost his eyesight following treatment at a government hospital in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The child was taken to the hospital for a cold and redness in the eye. After the doctor on duty administered medication, including eye drops, paracetamol syrup, and an injection, the toddler's condition deteriorated.
The child was referred to the district hospital in Sagar and subsequently taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Bhopal, where specialists confirmed the loss of eyesight due to incorrect treatment. The family has lodged a complaint at a police station demanding strict action. The Chief Medical and Health Officer has constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the case.
