Associated Press quoted police saying that shots were fired near a youth facility and they were conducting a major operation on Dankersstrasse, a street south of the town centre. German news agency dpa cited police confirming that a suspect was arrested. Stade is home to about 50,000 inhabitants and is located about 40 kilometres from Hamburg. “We ask you to leave the area and give it a wide berth for your own safety," police said in a post on X.
