Three devotees were killed and six others injured after a truck carrying CNG cylinders rammed into a stationary bus on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway in Rajasthan on Monday, police said. The accident took place near Mahla village when the bus, carrying devotees returning from Sanwariya Seth temple, had been parked on the roadside following a mechanical failure. According to Mokhampura Station House Officer Suresh Gurjar, the bus developed a technical snag after its axle reportedly broke. The driver pulled the vehicle over to the side of the highway, and repair work was underway when a speeding truck loaded with CNG cylinders crashed into it from behind.

Three people โ identified as Madhura, Rahul Harijan and Bhanwar Singh Rajawat โ died on the spot. Six others, identified as Kanta, Rohan, Varsha, Kartik, Rekha and Chanchal Aadiwal, sustained injuries in the crash. All the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said five of them were discharged after receiving first aid, while one person remains in critical condition.
Preliminary investigations suggest the devotees were residents of different parts of Jaipur and were returning home after offering prayers at the Sanwariya Seth temple when the accident occurred. TRUCK DRIVER FLED, PROBE UNDERWAY The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the vehicle on the highway. Police have registered a case and launched a search operation to trace and apprehend the accused driver. Authorities are also investigating the circumstances that led to the collision, including whether the truck was being driven at excessive speed or if negligence was involved.
The accident caused disruption to traffic on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway for some time as police and emergency teams carried out rescue operations and cleared the overturned bus from the road. Further investigation into the incident is underway. Ends
