(Source: Reuters) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath listened attentively to the grievances of several people from different districts of the state during his ‘Janata Darshan’ programme. After accepting the applications of the people, he directed the concerned officials to resolve all issues within prescribed time.
Not just that, the Chief Minister also asked officials to meet the aggrieved parties and know from them if they are satisfied with the authorities’ action on their appeals after the issue has been resolved. “Return home without any worry. We will ensure proper resolution of every case," the Chief Minister said, reassuring the applicants. There came a woman from Bareilly who appealed the Chief Minister to provide financial assistance for her cancer treatment. He asked the woman to provide the government an estimate of the cost. When the woman was unable to provide an estimated cost of treatment, he asked her to obtain it from the hospital. “You focus on your health. The government will take care of your treatment," he said to her.
He then directed the officials to ensure that she is admitted to a hospital and is provided proper medical care. The CM was also presented with several revenue-related cases during the programme. Handling them, he said that action against such violations will be continued. He also said that the government will have no tolerance for encroachments under any circumstances. Noting that prompt decisions give litigants a timely relief, the Chief Minister emphasised the need for timely disposal of these revenue cases. Further, the Chief Minister asked the revenue officials to attend court proceedings regularly and deliver decisions without any delay. He said that prolonged delays disproportionately affect poorer citizens. Ensuring justice for litigants is the government’s commitment and instructed revenue officials that justice must be provided timely to everyone who is in need.
