A 19-month-old child from Banda in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district allegedly lost his eyesight after receiving treatment at a civil hospital, prompting serious allegations of medical negligence. The family claims the child's condition deteriorated after he was administered eye drops and other medicines before being referred to Sagar District Hospital and later AIIMS Bhopal, where they were informed of the vision loss.
A police complaint has been filed, and health authorities have constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the allegations. The cause of the child's vision loss is under investigation, and official findings are awaited.
