UP A Manufacturing Powerhouse: Union Ministers Hail Yogi Adityanath At Jewar Electronics Project Launch Published By, Last Updated: June 29, 2026, 11:22 IST Union ministers said new electronics projects in Jewar will cut PCB imports, create around 3,000 jobs and strengthen Uttar Pradesh's position as a manufacturing hub. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (Photo: PTI) Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bhupender Yadav have lauded the Uttar Pradesh government’s push for industrialisation and electronics manufacturing, saying the state is emerging as a major hub for semiconductors and advanced electronics under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership. Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of two electronics manufacturing projects in Yamuna City, Jewar, Union Minister for Railways, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said Uttar Pradesh had created the ecosystem needed to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of expanding electronics manufacturing in India. According to a release by the Uttar Pradesh government, Vaishnaw said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had provided the vision that brought electronics manufacturing to Jewar and thanked him for helping establish the region as a major manufacturing destination. Referring to India’s growing domestic manufacturing capabilities, the Union minister said the country was moving beyond assembling electronic products to manufacturing its core components. As per PTI, he said advanced multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs), including those with 20 to 22 layers, form the backbone of modern technology and would now increasingly be manufactured in India instead of being imported.
Vaishnaw said India had been importing PCBs worth nearly Rs 40,000 crore annually, but domestic production would substantially reduce import dependence. According to the government release, products worth Rs 40,000 crore that were earlier imported would now be manufactured in Jewar, which is also expected to become a major electronics manufacturing hub alongside its growing semiconductor ecosystem. The Union minister said investments worth thousands of crores flowing into the Yamuna City region would help transform Jewar into one of India’s leading electronics and semiconductor manufacturing centres. According to PTI, the two projects involve a combined investment of around Rs 6,750 crore and are expected to generate nearly 3,000 jobs. The projects include a Rs 3,250-crore investment by ASCENT-K Circuit, a joint venture with South Korea’s KCC, to manufacture advanced high-density and multi-layer PCBs, and a Rs 3,500-crore facility by Amber Enterprises for manufacturing HVAC components and PCB assemblies, PTI reported. Highlighting infrastructure development, Vaishnaw referred to the proposed Delhi-Lucknow-Varanasi bullet train corridor, saying the project would significantly improve connectivity across Uttar Pradesh. According to the government release, the train, approved by Prime Minister Modi in the last Budget, will run from Delhi to Siliguri via Lucknow, Varanasi and Patna. He said the travel time between Delhi and Lucknow would be reduced to around 2 hours and 10 minutes, while the journey from Jewar to Lucknow would take about 1 hour and 40 minutes, adding that improved connectivity would further accelerate industrial growth in the state.
