(File photo) Ketan Agarwal Murder: As police are investigating the events leading to the murder of Ketan Agarwal, a trip to Udaipur in Rajasthan is now under scanner. Investigators believe the visit could provide crucial clues about the relationship between the two accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. According to the investigation, Siya and Chetan travelled to Udaipur with a group shortly before Siya’s engagement to Ketan in February. Police believe the time they spent together during the trip could help explain the sequence of events that followed. Officers are studying travel details, digital evidence and other forensic material collected during the investigation.
Siya Never Wanted To Marry Ketan Ketan, the son of a wealthy businessman from Maharashtra, and Siya appeared to share a happy relationship in public. Their social media accounts were filled with photographs, videos and reels showing them together. Police, however, allege that Siya had no intention of going ahead with the marriage. During interrogation, Siya allegedly told investigators that she never wanted to marry Ketan, according to a report by NDTV. Siya Handed Rs 1 Crore To Chetan The investigation further alleges that Siya obtained Rs 1 crore from Ketan by claiming it was needed for shopping and later handed the money to Chetan. According to police sources, Chetan wanted the funds to establish his business and career. The alleged plan was that after becoming financially stable over the next three years, he would approach Siya’s family with a marriage proposal.
Police claim the murder was carried out on June 18 at Lohagarh Fort in Pune district. Investigators alleged that Siya convinced Ketan to visit the fort, while Chetan travelled separately to avoid attracting attention. At an isolated location, Siya allegedly alerted Chetan, who then pushed Ketan into a deep gorge. Chetan also took steps to avoid leaving evidence. He allegedly left his own mobile phone at his shop before leaving for the fort, used an employee’s phone for essential communication during the journey and wore a hooded jacket to conceal his identity. The incident was initially believed to be an accidental fall. However, police said Ketan’s family began questioning that version after noticing Siya’s conduct following his death. On June 21, Ketan’s father and other relatives visited the site and concluded that the terrain made an accidental slip highly unlikely. Their suspicions led to a deeper investigation, which eventually uncovered the alleged murder plot.
