Pakistani Man Held For Crossing LoC In J&K's Poonch, Third Incident This Month Published By, Last Updated: June 28, 2026, 23:48 IST Indian Army arrests Pakistani man after LoC crossing in Poonch, third such case this month, as a suspected Pakistani drone briefly entered the Indian side in Samba district. The Pakistani man is currently being questioned to determine his intention behind crossing into the Indian side of the border and whether he had any intended contacts or objectives on the Indian side. A 31-year-old Pakistani man has been apprehended by Indian Army troops shortly after he crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, officials said, adding that this was the third such incident this month.
PTI quoted officials saying that Rayees Khan, a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was taken into custody from Balakote sector, but no incriminating material was recovered from him. He is currently being questioned to determine his intention behind crossing into the Indian side of the border and whether he had any intended contacts or objectives on the Indian side, they said. Previously, PoK intruder Mohammad Sajad (26) was arrested from Gulpur area of Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch. On June 9, 14-year-old Javid Ali was detained and handed over to Pakistan a week later. According to PTI, a suspected Pakistani drone briefly entered the Indian side along the International Border in Samba district, prompting a search operation by Indian forces.
The officials said the drone was noticed hovering near village Nundpur early Sunday. Following the incident, Border Security Force (BSF), Army and police carried out a thorough search operation to ensure that there was no airdropping of weapons or narcotics from across the border. Nothing incriminating was found, they added. Meanwhile, India on Sunday categorically rejected Pakistan’s allegations linking it to the recent terrorist attack in Karachi, calling the claims “baseless" and urging Islamabad to focus on dismantling the terror infrastructure operating from its own soil. The response came a day after Pakistani security forces claimed they had foiled a militant attack on a Sindh Rangers compound in Karachi, killing six militants and capturing another alive following a nearly 90-minute gun battle.
