In his remarks, the Prime Minister said the flavours of chutney and samosa have become symbols of the historical and cultural links that connect the Indian diaspora with the island nation.
“Chutney and samosa flavours are among the unique elements that reflect the shared heritage of India and Seychelles," Modi said. Shared Cultural Legacy The Prime Minister said the relationship between India and Seychelles extends beyond diplomacy and trade, and is rooted in centuries of cultural exchanges and close people-to-people connections. He noted that the Indian community has made significant contributions to Seychelles over the years while preserving traditions that continue to strengthen bilateral ties. Strong India-Seychelles Partnership India and Seychelles share close cooperation in areas including maritime security, development partnerships, healthcare, education, capacity building and climate resilience. New Delhi has been one of Seychelles’ key development partners, supporting infrastructure projects, defence cooperation and human resource development through grants, lines of credit and technical assistance.
