He also congratulated the beneficiaries and the residents of the district. Addressing a public meeting, CM Adityanath targeted Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav over his reported statement that his party would transform Ayodhya into a "religious city" if it came to power. "I was reading a statement by SP President Akhilesh Yadav yesterday. He was saying that if his government came to power, he would transform Ayodhya into a 'religious city.' What kind of religious city would you create? It was your government, the SP government, that opened fire on the devotees of Lord Ram. You lack the courage; apart from kneeling before Mullahs and Maulvis, you have no agenda for the state's development or for upholding the identity of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi," Adityanath said.
The chief minister said Ayodhya had already been transformed by Lord Ram's devotees and urged Yadav to visit the Ram temple. "Akhilesh ji, Ayodhya has already been transformed by Lord Ram's devotees. Don't worry about it. Repent, visit Ram Lalla once, at least that will bring you some wisdom. Now prepare so that we can also do something for Lord Krishna," he said. Adityanath also challenged the SP chief to speak about Mathura, Vrindavan and Krishna Janmabhoomi. "Akhilesh ji, now talk about Mathura. If you are truly trying to present yourself as religious, then speak openly about Mathura, Vrindavan and Krishna Janmabhoomi.
Say that, just like the Ram Janmabhoomi liberation movement, a campaign should also be launched for the liberation of Krishna Janmabhoomi," he said. The chief minister asserted that Lord Krishna's birthplace also deserves respect and alleged that the opposition lacked the courage to speak on the issue. Ends
