With a number of office bearers of the Congress not attending the two-day conclave on Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar on Monday (May 25, 2026) said those who have given the conclave a miss will be stripped of their posts. “I have been issued direction to remove the office bearers who have not come.
Attendance will be checked and they will be removed. Those not interested in party work will be removed from their post,” the KPCC president told presspersons. Since Sunday (May 24, 2026), the Congress is hosting a conclave strategising its move ahead of the commencement of SIR from June 20. The party fears that its voter base will be targeted during SIR for deletion of votes.
Stating that the Congress will not be opposing SIR but creating awareness about it among people, he said, “We have given responsibilities to people on SIR and on GBA elections. All Ministers have been asked to tour their Vidhan Sabha constituencies compulsorily to meet party workers and BLAs,” he added. Shivakumar said, “The enumeration forms should be filled and submitted compulsorily through the BLAs.
