A crane rammed into the boundary wall of a roadside temple in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur district, damaging a portion of the structure and triggering anger among local villagers. Police detained the crane driver and launched a legal investigation into the incident. According to police, the crane driver, Suchit Singh, son of Gulab Singh and a resident of Deori Dubar Kalan hit the wall of the Rudreshwar Mahadev Temple while reversing the vehicle.
The crane crashed through the wall and entered the temple premises, causing partial damage to the temple's boundary wall. The incident sparked outrage among villagers, and a large crowd gathered at the site soon after the accident.
BJP MLA Ratnakar Mishra also visited the temple and assured the villagers that the damaged portion of the temple would be repaired at the earliest. City Circle Officer Amit Kumar said the temple wall sustained partial damage in the incident. However, he confirmed that all idols installed inside the temple remained completely safe and that no casualties or injuries were reported.
He added that Vindhyachal police inspected the site immediately after receiving information and detained the crane driver while taking the vehicle into custody for further legal action. Ends
