Two people were injured in a blaze triggered by a blast at an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Kapadvanj town in Kheda district of Gujarat on Saturday (June 27, 2026), officials said.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anil Zala said no licence had been issued for manufacturing activities at the unit, adding that the unit owner is absconding. "Two persons were injured after fire broke out followed by an explosion.
One of them was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Nadiad, while the other was referred to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital," he added. A fire department official said the blaze, which erupted around 10 a.m., has been brought under control by two fire tenders.
An investigation is underway to understand the exact cause of the incident.
