Probe alleged irregularities in assistant professor recruitment process, says Nainar Nagenthran
BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran on Saturday urged the State government to review the recruitment process for assistant professors in government arts and science
BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran on Saturday urged the State government to review the recruitment process for assistant professors in government arts and science colleges, alleging discrepancies in the evaluation of candidates. In a statement, he described reports of irregularities in the award of marks in the recruitment examination as “shocking” and said they reflected continuing flaws in teacher appointments irrespective of the government in power.
Nagenthran cited allegations that a candidate who scored 111 out of 150 in the first paper had been awarded zero marks out of 50 in the essay section. He also referred to claims that candidates with greater teaching seniority had received only single-digit marks and the experience marks of one selected candidate had reportedly been revised from zero to 15 after certificate verification.
Stating that such allegations could not be ignored, he said the future of graduates should not be sacrificed for the alleged greed of officials. He urged Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to order
a comprehensive review of the examination results. Mr. Nagenthran also called on the government to increase the number of notified assistant professor vacancies from 2,708 to 4,000 by including the remaining 1,292 vacant posts.
