Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Seychelles is being described as a historic milestone in the longstanding partnership between the two nations. Speaking in Victoria-Mahe, High Commissioner of India to Seychelles, Rohit Rathish, highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between India and Seychelles, saying the two countries share over 250 years of historical ties, common democratic values, and close cultural connections.
He expressed optimism that the Prime Minister's visit would usher in a new phase of bilateral cooperation, with both countries expected to inaugurate several projects in the civilian, defence, and security sectors. He also emphasized that the visit is likely to provide fresh momentum to strategic cooperation in the Indian Ocean region.
