Police believe a simple act, Siya Goyal sitting down atop Lohagad Fort, may have been the signal for co-accused Chetan Chaudhary to allegedly push Ketan Agarwal into the gorge. Let’s Take A Look At The Timeline Of The Incident June 18: Reconstructing Ketan Agarwal’s Last Moments According to investigators, Ketan Agarwal’s car crossed the Urse toll plaza on the Pune side at 8.41 am on June 18.
Police estimate that the journey from the toll naka to Lohagad Fort takes nearly an hour, suggesting that Ketan and his fiancee Siya Goyal reached the fort between 9.40 am and 9.45 am. Investigators said it typically takes around 22 to 25 minutes for an average person to climb to the top of the fort. Based on this estimate, police believe the couple would have reached the summit by around 10.15 am. Police suspect that co-accused Chetan Chaudhary had initially been trailing the pair. However, because he was moving faster, investigators believe he overtook them and reached the top of the fort before Ketan and Siya arrived. The Alleged Signal According to investigators, Siya sitting down was allegedly the pre-decided signal for Chetan to act. Police suspect that shortly afterwards, at around 10.30 am, Chetan pushed Ketan into the gorge.
Investigators said Chetan then left the spot, while Siya allegedly began shouting “Help, Help". At 10.41 am, Siya called Ketan’s mother and informed her about the incident. After The Fall Police and family members were alerted and rushed to the fort. Investigators said Siya remained at the spot until officers arrived and stayed there until Ketan’s body was retrieved from the gorge. The body was later taken to a hospital for postmortem examination. According to police, Siya remained at the hospital until nearly 4.30 pm to 5 pm, waiting for the formalities to be completed. Probe Intensifies Police have constituted six teams to gather evidence and investigate the case from different angles. Investigators are also expected to recreate the crime scene in the coming days as part of the ongoing probe.
