A federal judge declared a mistrial against the man accused of starting the Palisades Fire. A jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on three felony arson counts against Jonathan Rinderknecht, who is charged with setting a fire that officials say eventually became the Palisades Fire.
Jurors deliberated for 13 hours over two days. In the end, 10 of them would have voted not guilty while two would have voted guilty. LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall spoke about the trial with former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani.
