A political debate has erupted over alleged theft from the donation boxes at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Anurag Bhadauria questioned the BJP regarding the stolen funds, accusing them of diverting the discussion away from the core issue. In response, BJP spokesperson Sanju Verma criticized the Samajwadi Party for its alliance with the DMK, referencing controversial remarks on Sanatana Dharma.
Anchor Gaurav highlighted that a Special Investigation Team probe found procedural lapses, with CCTV footage capturing the theft and leading to eight arrests. Participating in the discussion, Brijesh Kalappa demanded the resignation of Champat Rai, the general secretary of the temple trust. Kalappa alleged that funds collected since the 1990 Ram Janmabhoomi movement have been misused. He stated that the thieving occurred right under Rai's nose, arguing that anyone who steals money of the deity is bound to be thrown into the 'dustbin of history' and warned of political consequences for the state and central governments.
