Rapid Read Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and sought the establishment of a fast-track court for the case. Renowned senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam will represent the family of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary. Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and sought the establishment of a fast-track court for the case. He also requested that Ujjwal Nikam be appointed as the special public prosecutor to lead the prosecution. Responding to the family’s demands, Chief Minister Fadnavis approved the setting up of a fast-track court to ensure an expeditious trial.
He also assured the family that the state government would leave no stone unturned in ensuring justice. Senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam, who led the prosecution in several high-profile cases, including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case, has agreed to serve as the special public prosecutor in the Ketan Agarwal case. Following the meeting, Vishal Agarwal said he had urged the Chief Minister to ensure the accused receive the strictest punishment. “I requested the Chief Minister that the accused should at least be awarded the death penalty. He assured me that the case will be fast-tracked. I have also been informed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the matter," Vishal Agarwal said. Describing the incident as deeply disturbing, Chief Minister Fadnavis said the case raises serious questions about society and the mindset of young people. “This is an extremely shocking incident, something beyond imagination.
It compels us, as a society, to reflect on why children from educated and well-settled families develop such malicious and destructive thinking. This case should not be viewed merely as a crime but also from a social perspective. Society must consider what kind of environment and value system can prevent such cruel and revenge-driven thoughts from developing in young minds," Fadnavis said. Ketan Agarwal died on June 18 after falling from Lohagad Fort near Pune. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected murder. His fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged associate, Chetan Chaudhary, have been arrested and remain in police custody as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, Lonavala Rural Police Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Gajanan Tompe said the probe is progressing and investigators have recorded statements from several witnesses, while additional statements are being collected as part of the ongoing investigation.
