Madhav on Friday (June 26, 2026) reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug trafficking and preventing substance abuse, marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with calls for stronger enforcement and public participation. In a post on X, Mr. Naidu said the fight against drugs was ultimately a fight to protect the aspirations, health and future of young people. He said the government was conducting aggressive law enforcement operations, strengthening border and transit surveillance, and implementing rehabilitation programmes to dismantle drug networks and help vulnerable communities access sustainable and lawful livelihoods.
