A powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake followed immediately by a 7.5 tremor — the strongest in over a century — caused buildings to collapse, trapping people under rubble and overwhelming the country’s already fragile infrastructure.Venezuelan-born nurse Maria Marquez described the dire situation: hospitals without supplies, collapsed emergency services, and healthcare workers who have fled the country.
