Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka chaired a review meeting of the BC, SC, and ST departments at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Thursday, reaffirming that welfare remains the central agenda of the State government. Ministers Adluri Laxman Kumar and Ponnam Prabhakar were also present during the review. Nr. Vikramarka directed officials to complete all repair works in welfare hostels and residential institutions within one month and instructed the Finance Department to prioritise clearance of approximately ₹7.5 crore in pending repair bills outstanding since 2023.
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed strengthening the Study Circles to boost success rates in UPSC and Group Services examinations. According to data, 1,810 candidates from districts outside Hyderabad have been selected through Study Circles since 2014, with nearly 1,000 selected under the current government. The Deputy CM called for a monthly action plan for the construction of Ambedkar Tower and the Babu Jagjivan Ram Student Hostel Building setting April 14, 2027 as the date for inauguration.
He highlighted that diet charges have been raised by 40% and cosmetic charges by 200% since the government’s formation, with all related bills being cleared
regularly. Officials were directed to implement self-employment schemed under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam and submit a report on the proposed electric two-wheeler scheme.
