A new citizen-led online portal named Makkal Saatchi, which translates to people's corruption witness, allows users in Tamil Nadu to anonymously report bribery and corruption. Developed by a software engineer, the website provides a simple, five-step reporting process with over seventy-five categories of bribes, including overcharging and government office corruption.
The platform ensures complete user anonymity, allowing citizens to log their experiences without revealing their identities. It also features an AI version currently in development to identify corruption hotspots, making it easier for officials to locate departments with high frequencies of bribery complaints and take corrective action.
