Two NASA Astronauts To Take 7-Hour Spacewalk Outside ISS On June 30: What They Will Do Published By, Last Updated: June 25, 2026, 16:13 IST NASA astronauts will perform US Spacewalk 95 on June 30 to replace a faulty Canadarm2 wrist joint, with NASA streaming the seven hour ISS repair live. NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Chris Williams are scheduled to conduct a spacewalk outside the International Space Station on June 30 to replace a malfunctioning wrist joint on the orbiting laboratory’s Canadarm2 robotic arm. The spacewalk, designated US Spacewalk 95, is expected to last around seven hours. The astronauts are set to exit the Quest airlock at approximately 8:35 am EDT, or 6:05 pm IST.
NASA will begin live coverage at 7 am EDT, around 90 minutes before the astronauts are expected to step outside the space station. Repair Work On Canadarm2 The primary objective of the mission is to replace a faulty wrist joint on Canadarm2, the Canadian-built robotic arm that plays a central role in station operations. The arm is used to move equipment, assist astronauts during spacewalks, support cargo operations and help capture or position visiting spacecraft at the ISS. The wrist joint developed a malfunction during routine operations on May 27, prompting NASA to schedule the repair work. Second Spacewalk Together This Year The June 30 mission will be the second spacewalk together for Meir and Williams in 2026.
The two astronauts previously carried out a spacewalk on March 18, which lasted seven hours and two minutes. During that mission, they prepared the station’s power system for the future installation of new roll-out solar arrays. The earlier outing was Meir’s fourth spacewalk and Williams’ first. How To Watch The Spacewalk NASA said viewers can watch the mission live on NASA+, YouTube, Amazon Prime and Netflix. The spacewalk is part of continuing maintenance work on the International Space Station, where astronauts regularly conduct repairs and upgrades to keep the orbiting laboratory operational for scientific research and future commercial missions.
