The religious conversion case in Kota has escalated into a major controversy following allegations by the Bajrang Dal. The group claims the accused possessed over 40,000 obscene videos, operated a conversion network targeting Hindu women through platforms like Telegram, Snapchat, and Discord, and maintained links with Pakistani handlers. While the police confirmed the arrest of the accused, identified as Munish Sharma who allegedly used the alias Mohan Khan, under the BNS and IT Act, they stated that evidence of religious conversion, circumcision, or Pakistani connections has not yet been conclusively established.
Digital evidence, including recovered obscene footage, is currently under examination. An audio clip purportedly featuring a Pakistani handler discussing strategies to radicalise local youth was also accessed. The Bajrang Dal has demanded a comprehensive probe by central investigative agencies into the financial accounts and extensive network of the accused, which reportedly reaches Jaipur and Karauli, targeting vulnerable women.
