A shocking murder inside Mumbai's lifeline, the local train network, has left commuters stunned. A 22-year-old man, Mayank Lohar, was allegedly stabbed to death inside a first-class coach of the Churchgate-Nalasopara fast local train following an argument over whether the train doors should remain open during heavy rainfall. According to police, the dispute began when passengers argued over rainwater entering the compartment through the open doors. What started as a verbal altercation soon escalated into violence when the accused allegedly pulled out a sharp weapon and attacked Mayank.
The victim, a resident of Virar and an employee at a retail store in Andheri, reportedly died on the spot. Following the incident, Mumbai Police launched an extensive investigation, scanning nearly 400 CCTV footage clips before arresting 30-year-old Roshan Suvarna, who works in the cargo section at Mumbai Airport. The incident has sparked concerns over passenger safety in Mumbai's local trains, while the victim's family has demanded the strictest punishment for the accused.
